How To Share

As a parent you’ll have long, hard nights of holding your baby, cuddles shared with toddlers and tweens, hugs given to a sad or proud teenager, and the gentle holding of your adult child. These different kinds of holding are so familiar, and at first so frequent, we never really notice them, but they can be important, not only for your child, but for you and your relationship with your child.

You’re invited to share what it is like for you to hold your children of any age, whether you're a mother or father, grandmother or guardian, I'd love to hear what holding your child is like for you:

  • SHARE - Write about or create something that represents what holding is/has been like for you. You can write about any holding experience, positive or negative. It might be from a moment ago or from decades prior. You can post once or repeatedly, it’s up to you. Go to the CONTACT page to share your experience.

  • ANONYMITY - Provide a pseudonym/alias, your home country and, if you like, another piece of information you feel important (eg age, number of children, relational status, work, ethnicity, etc). Do not provide any identifying information.

  • UPLOAD - I upload your experiences. I will remove any potentially identifying information or offensive content.

  • DISCOVER AND RESPOND - You can read other’s posts and, if you like, leave a few words about your response to their experiences.

  • ETIQUETTE - Please be kind and supportive, it takes a lot of strength for people to reveal personal experiences, particularly those to do with our children. This website is curated so that offensive or mean-spirited posts/responses will not be available for viewing.

Please note, I hope to add the option of sharing your imagery on this website soon...The images attached to the shared experiences for now are by Alex Pasarelu on Unsplash and Wix Media.
